I first heard about the BOSS ME5 in Guitar Player Magazine in the late 80's and bought my first unit in 19 the original and still the best I was intrigued by the idea of a boss pedal multi effect and once I tried it, I realized the brilliance of the unit and now, 30 years later, recognize it's STILL brilliant I mainly play blues and bluesy rock, and have been gigging for nine years The ME50 suits my style (and any style) nicely If this unit were lostor stolen, I would certainly buy another I love how this unit renders all of my effects and the resultant toetapping dance on stage obsolete Most of the effects on the ME50B sound great if you're jamming alone, but they did not always work in a band setting I mostly used the distortion and octave, but now have single pedals for those And I no longer have to deal with the alwayson COSM thingie Hi
